Messages are encrypted at rest and protected using strong encryption and access controls designed to prevent unauthorised access.

Draft messages processed for AI are not stored after processing.

4. AI Features — Transparency and Limitations
Comminxy uses AI to assist communication through tone suggestions and relationship nudges.
AI Limitations:
- AI outputs are automated and based on text patterns
- AI may produce inaccurate or incomplete suggestions
- AI does not understand full relationship context
- AI outputs are not reviewed by humans

5. Emotional Safety Disclaimer
Comminxy is not designed to handle situations involving abuse, violence, coercion, or mental health crises. If you are in such a situation, seek help from qualified professionals or emergency services.
6. AI Processing
AI processing may involve local analysis or cloud processing via Microsoft Azure OpenAI. Only limited message context is processed. We do not use private messages to train AI models.
7. Data Sharing
We share data only with essential service providers:
- Microsoft Azure (hosting, storage)
- Azure OpenAI (AI processing)
- Firebase (notifications)
- Email providers
All providers act as data processors under contractual obligations. We do not sell or share data for advertising.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence. We implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers in accordance with applicable laws.
9. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained for as long as your account remains active
- Messages and user content: Retained until you delete them or your account is deleted
- Deleted data: Permanently removed within 30–90 days, unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, or backup purposes
- AI interaction logs: Retained for up to 90 days for product improvement, then deleted or anonymised
- Analytics data: Retained for up to 12 months in aggregated or non-identifiable form
Some limited data may remain in secure backups for a short period after deletion, after which it is automatically overwritten or anonymised.
10. Your Rights

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
12. Children's Privacy
Comminxy is intended for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Certain data may be linked to your identity, including account data, relationship data, mood data, and AI interaction data. We do not use cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers.
